| A screen-shot from the game, Capitalism II |
This looks like my kind of game - no one to shoot, no stress, just build a city & make lots of money!!
What is capitalism, anyway??
Wikipedia, says: "Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production and distribution and industry are privately owned and operated for a private profit; decisions regarding supply, demand, price, distribution, and investments are made by private actors in the market rather than by central planning by the government; profit is distributed to owners who invest in businesses, and wages are paid to workers employed by businesses."
So why did I find so much negative stuff out there? Did mankind forget the rules??:
Matt. 19: 21 - Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Matt. 23: 23 - Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Some have learned! In a Time Magazine article from 1954: "IN U.S. industry, there are no more fervent evangelists than the growing number of businessmen who believe that profit-sharing is the answer to the problems of productivity, morale and retirement."
Or from last year's BYU Forum by Arthur C Brooks: "I am rich because I give." He pointed out that the thought process of economists is directly opposite of entrepreneurs! Economists think you have to 'make money so you can give it away', but entrepreneurs believe that you 'give money away so you will have more'!!
Sounds like good Capitalism to me!
