Freezer Meals

I touched on this subject in my post, Keep Up The Stockpile, but thought I would expand here!

Years ago, my husband had some single friends at work who had no family in the area.  We adopted any who wanted a family meal occasionally & fed them often.  We quickly learned which guys to serve last so everyone could have some food!  Therefore, I have my family "trained" to know how much of a recipe they can have!!

Trail Mix

I love trail mix!  I eat it on my cereal in the mornings, I eat it by the handful when I'm feeling really hungry & can't get "full", and sometimes, I even eat it while hiking!  But ... I hate buying trail mix premade at the grocery store.  It always seems bland, or full of not so hot ingredients designed to get me to buy it, but not cost anything for them to make it.  Blah!  So, I make my own!

Paul's Steak

My sweet husband, Paul, doesn't do a lot of the cooking in our home, but when he does, it is always amazing!  His "piece de resistance" is his steaks.  This recipe has evolved over time, updating here & there, but is always wonderful!  Since he started making these, I have completely stopped buying steak sauces - we simply have no need for them!

Making a Food Calendar

I like to use Google Calendar - I have tried to change from a paper calendar (sniff!!) to a digital one, and Google works for me.  I look at other online calendars, but it looks to me like they are spinoffs of Google's.  It doesn't matter, really, what kind of calendar you use - it is the planning that makes a difference!
