I haven't written anything on this blog in almost a year - but have thought about it a lot! I've even downloaded an app for my iPad to blog with (although I am currently typing on my laptop instead).
So, today, while checking my email. I found a diigo message linking me to Dear Students: Don't Let College Unplug Your Future written by my teacher from last year's DigiCiv class. As always, his blog was well written and greatly linked to other wonderful works online.
My guess is that other students from our class last year have continued to blog while they are learning. One of the requirements of that class was that we had to keep a blog - partly about ourselves, and partly about whatever we were studying that week. I had several favorites that I loved to read - way too many to list here - but I admit that I haven't read any for way too long. How do you choose which of the gazillians of great blogs in my favorites to read?? It has been overwhelming! And then, how do I choose which of the flurry of my ideas to write about??? Oh well, instead I will waste time looking at lolcats!
OK - I actually have been working on a couple things:
** 2 blogs for genealogy - one for each of my parents' lines (http://mybrowngenealogy.blogspot.com/ and http://mylarsongenealogy.blogspot.com/). Since much of the work has been done, my blogs are all about pictures, life stories, and original document scans.
** After HomeSchooling for over 18 years, I have a LOT of stuff that I made. I tried telling people about what I did, but quickly discovered that I was overwhelming when I got on my soap box! So, I tried a Yahoo Group, but it seemed that Yahoo was sort of falling out of fashion, so I took it all down. I need to start a new blog about HomeSchooling. Our family did all our HomeSchooling years before the onslaught of digital technology, but what I have still has a lot of value. Besides, I can add stuff I am still learning about!
** Food - everybody loves food! I have way too may cookbooks, online links, and friends' recipes to hold in one place. Yesterday, I realized that a solution to my daily dilemma of what to cook is to schedule it into a new calendar on my Google calendar - that way, every day I have a default setting. If nothing else sounds like a better option, I have a plan.
** Scouting - I have been involved in Boy Scouting for almost 15 years! Yet, I still hear great new ideas and suggestions to help leaders work better! I could start a blog about some of those ideas! Or at least add to this one!
Of course, I should really be updating this blog a LOT more often! So, I plan to begin and work toward that - starting today with this blog! Now to plan what to write about! lol!!!
So, put me back on your reading list, as I promise to write more often!
